Just about every May I sit down to write my newsletter; I write about Mom’s Day. And why not… it is a very special day for very special people.
My Mom used to tell me, seemingly repeatedly, to do this and do that, not to do this and not to do that. ALL, I recall, very valuable advice. Looking back on it all these many years later, I can say she was a very wise woman and super funny too. My friends loved her! Me TOO!!
Time reveals, in fact, just about every caring Mother is a Wise Woman. I can see why we carve out a special day each year to acknowledge Moms.
Mother’s Day this year is May 10th. Many Mom’s have been doing quadruple duty during this pandemic with lots more meals, lots more of everything so if it’s possible to show quadruple love this would be the year. So here is a shout out to all Mom’s – Happy Mother’s Day!!
Unfortunately, My Mom is no longer here. I have great memories and some things I wish I would have done more. And I believe I will see her in heaven. I am sure some reading this can relate and have similar memories.
For ALL those whose Mom is no longer with us, may you remember the best about them. In addition to that, there are also many who never knew their Mom due to unfortunate circumstance. I bet someone played that roll in their life and they too deserve a Happy Mother’s Day!
Regardless, we can celebrate this Mother’s Day knowing Moms both here and no longer here are special in more ways than we can count. Especially the Moms who are sitting right now by their Child’s hospital bed not too far from where I type this…
You may recall my team and I are on a mission to raise $10,000 for Rady Children’s Hospital. We do that by donating a portion of our income from home sales to this very worthy cause. Who do you know??
Right now, there are kids at RADY who are trying to beat the Cancer Monster and other nasty debilitating diseases. Rady is one of the best non-profit hospitals at treating kids, even leading the way in early diagnosis of autism and recovery of spinal cord injury. The Mom’s with kids being treated at Children’s are most likely NOT thinking about their special day this month. They are simply just being “Mom” doing what a real loving Mom does. God bless them for it.
